The editing for ‘Blue Fear’ began during the intro to remove an 8 bar loop which was upsetting the 16/32 bar rule I was sticking to, and this helped the transition I was talking about earlier with ‘Birds’.
The biggest focus on the editing was the rearrangement of the first breakdown at 1:52, as this section actually appears much later within the original track, and by removing a rather significant part of the track by doing this, I managed to speed up the flow of the edited version, whilst still keeping all the important parts from the original.
I felt that ‘Blue Fear’ had enough energy and interest going on to be able to do such an arrangement, as even with just one breakdown as opposed to the original tracks two, it still had enough going on to not sound diluted.
The following track ‘Spirits Dancing’ comes in at 3:59, and I altered the progression of the outro to sound more complimentary to the transition, by making sure the vocoded “blue fear” sample came in just before the track ends.
