The audio editing for ‘Home’ was directed mainly towards the end of the track, as I wanted the track to adhere to a 16/32 bar flow so it could fit more tightly with the progression of the following track. This was achieved by looping a section of the chorus (if you listen very carefully at 2:57 you can hear the word “home” left over from the previous loop).
From 3.11 I have ‘Body Shine’ enter the mix, and as the transition is a change of key, I wanted the transition to build gradually, so I readjusted the progression of the outro and cut the low frequencies to bring focus on the bass of ‘Body Shine’ which was driving the new root note.
Mix transition between ‘Home’ & ‘Body Shine’ :
Another approach I took here (and at various other points across the two discs) was to take the crash cymbal and kick from the start of the current track, and bring it in again at the start of the following track. This was due to some of the audio editing being quite sharp, and by having a reverb tail of a crash cymbal, it helped blend the sound design together. You can see this clearly at the far right of the screenshot below:
