‘Repeated Love’ was actually the very first track I warped in Ableton in preparation for this project, as it had a very clear waveform due to the strong transients – an attribute I felt was ideal for flexing my warping skills in preparation for the 35 other tracks I had to do!

The main points of focus on my editing where to remove the opening bars before the first break so that the first break now appears as the ‘start’ of the track (the part which appears during the closing bars of ‘Higher State Of Consciousness’) and I rearranged the closing bars of the track so that the high frequency content slowly dissolved out ready for the introduction of the following record. This was done by arranging the bars so  that with each 8 bar progression more and more high content was removed, not by using filters but by reversing the progression used, so that by the time the following track was introduced there was just a kick drum being used (which was actually part of the intro I removed earlier).

I also trimmed the arrangement down to fit a solid 16/32 bar progression as there were places were I thought it pointless having an extra 24 bars of the same thing, and although some tracks work with extended arrangements (such as ‘Body Shine’ mentioned earlier) I felt ‘Repeated Love’ did not have enough layering or interest going on to really warrant it.

I  then went on to remove 32 bars from the beginning of the track after the first break, and also looped and rearranged the latter half of the track before the outro.

At 2:50 the following track comes in and in terms of DJ mixing, it is pretty standard technique I sometimes employ, cutting all low frequencies below 260hz on the playing track, and introducing the following track with low and high pass filters fully open.

The methodology behind this is that in classical music middle C is the cut off point between the treble clef and the bass clef and as the more astute music technology wizards amongst you will know 261hz is the frequency of middle C.
